to select the motivated and talented candidates for pursuing basic
science courses and research career in science. KVPY
or Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana
is a national fellowship program based on basis sciences, funded
by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and
implemented by Indian Institute of Science, to
encourage extraordinary talent in students pursuing basic science
courses to take up research career in
Science and to ensure growth of scientific research and development
in the country.
KVPY
2014 Online Application Form is
currently available online on the official website of KVPY 2014.
Interested eligible candidates can fill the online application form
till 8th
September 2014, closing date for the application form. Candidates
must check the eligibility criteria ( refer below) before applying for
the KVPY 2014 Exam.

2014 Eligibility Criteria
- Stream SA- Candidates presently appearing in class XI with science stream in the academic year 2014 – 15 and secured at least 80% aggregate marks (70% aggregate marks for SC/ST/ & PWD) in Mathematics and Science subjects in the class X Board Examination are eligible
- Stream SX - Candidates presently appearing in class XII in science stream in the academic Year 2014-15 and willing to join UG program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math/Int. M.Sc./M.S.) and have secured at least 80% aggregate marks (70% for SC/ST/ & PWD) in Mathematics and Science subjects in the class X Board Examination
- Stream SB – Candidates appearing in 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./ B.Math/ Int. M.Sc. /M.S. for the academic year 2014-15 and have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks for SC/ST/ & PWD candidates) in SCIENCE subjects in class XII Board Examination are eligible to apply

KVPY 2014 Selection Criteria:
- The selection will be made from those candidates who are studying in XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat. /B.Math. / Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology having aptitude for scientific research can apply
- Special Committees are set up at Indian Institute of Science to screen the application forms and to conduct KVPY Exam at various centres across the country. Based on the performance in the Entrance Exam, the short-listed candidates will be called for an interview based on which the final selection of candidates will be done
- For receiving a fellowship, candidates marks in both KVPY Exam 2014 and interview will be considered
